The Next 56 model from Simonis Voogd was conceived with much input from Mr Americas Cup, Bruno Trouble.


She was designed as a very fast cruising boat, built of high-tech composites, and able to be easily sailed shorthanded, or just as easily raced hard with a full crew, utilising the water ballast system. Her hydraulic keel reduces her draft to just 6 feet, and with electric winches and furling head sails she is an amazingly easy boat to cruise.


Aesthetics were of paramount importance during design and every effort has been made to keep her looking clean and uncluttered, often hard to do on a large sailing yacht. Halyards are led below decks, the anchoring system folds away into a bow locker, her carbon rig supports a wide boom for easy stowing of the main and there are many other small details that, combined, make this the stunning yacht she is.


She is built using E-glass laminates and epoxy resins over a vacuum bagged foam core and her interior is completely hand-faired and painted.


Her owner has continually maintained and upgraded her since purchase, and she now sports new teak decks and cockpit, new awnings, latest B&G 3000 instruments, Spectra water-maker and new batteries.
